An announcement in the local paper states the time and place of a murder to occur in a Victorian house. The victim is not one of several occupants, temporary and permanent, but an unexpected and unknown visitor. A classic Christie puzzle follows, complete with mixed motives, concealed identities, a determined inspector, and Miss Marple on hand to provide the final solution
