TUNA TEXAS

Tuna Texas is a hotbed of activity, or so the folks in the plays, Greater Tuna, and A Tuna Christmas would have you believe.  We have done A Tuna Christmas two times and Greater Tuna once.  Both are fun to perform and to watch.  Originally performed by two male actors, we used several, which still required most actors to assume multiple roles, which many times adds to the fun for the actors on stage.  Hurrying around to change clothes, and sometimes even genders makes for great fun backstage.  Even the audience seems to have fun trying to figure out who is who.  Sometimes our own parents have a hard time trying to figure that out!

We also did a few skits at different locations with the Tuna characters, anything that we did about Tuna is represented here.

Directed by Linda Ostermeier, the sets were minimal, which left a lot up to the imagination as to what the actors are really doing, or how they are doing it.  Washing dishes, or putting things away sometimes was a challenge for them, because they had to remember where that sink, or cabinet, or refrigerator was, because it wasn't REALLY THERE!!  Sometimes the audience may not know it, but the appliances may have moved just a little, but since they couldn't really see them, it didn't matter.  IMAGINATION  is fun!

Again, I don't have a lot of pictures of these shows, so if you have anything to share, let us know.

Here are a few pics of a Tuna skit that we did downtown, during the Chili Cookoff, I believe.  An interesting thing with performing outside, is a dressing room, especially when back stage is the Lincoln Memorial Bridge!
